C.302 - Participatory Video; Community-Led Empowerment: Part 1

This course is focused on how to work as a facilitator of a participatory project, which allows disaffected groups to tell their own stories through video production. Especially designed for individuals in the social, education and community development sectors, course participants learn basic skills in video production and an introduction to the use of video technology in creating community-based projects. Students for this course are encouraged to bring proposals for community participatory video projects.

Spanish Language Classes for Activists!

Given the frequency with which socially engaged people need to communicate with diverse communities, it is imperative that activists and community organizers be familiar with the second most spoken language in the US. To help, SALSA is offering two eight week courses; one to accommodate beginners AND another for those who already have a limited grasp of Spanish but want to sharpen it.The classes will be for eight (8) consecutive Tuesdays(Beginners), Tuesdays (Conversation Club)and Wednesdays (Refresher Spanish), starting July 7th, 14th, and 15th. respectively. Also join us Saturday, July 18th for a four-hour Spanish Immersion Workshop, 10am-2pm.
